GUT CHECK has no accounts and no server that stores your data. We built it so it can't spy on you.
There is no sign-up, no login, and no email required to play. You just open the page and go.
Your daily result, current streak, best score, games played, and whether you've already played today are saved only in your browser's localStorage, on your device.
This data never leaves your device and is never sent to us. There is no backend database to send it to. We cannot see your scores.
Each day's five challenges are computed on your device from the date (a deterministic seed), so everyone gets the same puzzle without any server call.
We don't use tracking cookies, advertising networks, third-party trackers, or browser fingerprinting. (localStorage is used only for your own game state, as above, not for tracking.)
We may use a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool (e.g. Vercel Web Analytics) to count aggregate page views. It does not set cookies, does not track you across other sites, and does not collect personal data.
The site is static files served by a hosting provider. Like any website, the host may transiently process standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to serve pages and protect the service. We don't combine this into profiles of you.
Clearing your browser's site data erases your local stats and resets the daily lock. That's the only "delete" needed. We hold nothing on our end.
The game is suitable for a general audience and collects no personal information from anyone.
